At The Crossroads 1997 A musical play drawn from the lives of farming women in rural Australia. Three women meet at an outback crossroads for their annual general meeting, to elect a new president. An outsider is co-opted to chair the meeting. To convince the audience to vote for them, the characters sing of their experience on the land including; farm disclosures, land degradation and land care, the battle between older and younger generations, the new role of women in farming, sustainable agriculture, indigenous land rights, the history of Aboriginal stock riders, migrant farmers, domestic violence, natural disasters and their shared love of the land.
