Girls of the Reel 2000
A musical journey into the silent movie era in Australia, that uncovers the talent of little known women working in the film industry at that time. Women such as Lotte Lyell, the McDonagh sisters, Louise Lovely and Annete Kellerman were all active in directing and producing their own work. Incorporating archival film footage, music, song and comedy the talents of these women are revisited. Comparisons are drawn between then and now in relation to the world dominance of the film industry by American companies.
